When the Asolo Repertory Theatre purchased two buildings adjacent to their existing scenery production shop, they contracted Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors to create a new theatrical rehearsal and production campus linking the new buildings with the expanded scenery shop. The project includes interior and exterior renovations of the two newly purchased buildings and a 10,000 SF new addition connecting the buildings. The building program has two state-of-the-art large rehearsal studios, multiple smaller rehearsal studios, a recording studio, conference and meeting rooms, offices, and costume construction and storage spaces. The main entrance of the building features a custom aluminum shade trellis that gives a modern, contemporary appearance to the building and provides a shaded outdoor gathering and performance space.
