Sweet Sparkman Architects have completed similar major HVAC replacement and interior updates to four Sarasota County Schools: Laurel Nokomis School, Sarasota Middle School, Booker Elementary School Media Room Renovation and Booker Middle School. All the projects that Sweet Sparkman Architects have been involved in for the School Board of Sarasota County have been multi-phased projects on the campuses of schools with ongoing operations. All of these projects required close coordination with the School Board of Sarasota County, the schools’ staff and the Construction Manager to ensure student and staff safety while providing continuous educational operations during the construction process. Sweet Sparkman Architects was responsible for the design and construction administration to renovate the HVAC system including new chiller, thermal energy storage system, chilled water piping, air side systems, HVAC controls, lighting and electrical distribution. Also included is painting, replacement of flooring and ceilings, fire alarm system, casework and low voltage system revision in the Scope of Work as well as the site restoration, and demolition and relocation of portable buildings. The renovations are in accordance with Green Globe standards as part of the federal government’s requirements.
