Englewood Library Remodel and Expansion

LIBRARIES / CULTURAL: Englewood, Florida

The Project is a 6,500 SF addition to the Englewood Library. The library is located at the center of a large Charlotte County complex which includes a gymnasium, dance hall, tennis courts and skating rink. The expanded library will function as the civic anchor for the county campus. The scope of work includes the re-roofing of the existing 8,000 SF library with a new single-ply membrane roof over new tapered insulation sloped to provide for proper drainage. Renovations to the existing library included the removal of the interior ceilings to provide for a new fire-suppression system in accordance with the latest building codes. Other interior improvements included new carpet, painting and energy upgrades to the library lighting and HVAC systems. A new addition of approximately 6,500 SF will provide for a larger youth services area, a new teen center, additional meeting rooms and a room dedicated to the Charlotte County Historical Archives.
